The Minister for East African Community Affairs Shem Bageine has urged Ugandans to embrace the East African Community (EAC) integration and take advantage of the opportunities in the region.

Speaking at the Karibu East Africa climax event at the Kampala Serena Hotel earlier this week, Bageine said various reports have shown that there is an increase in the number of Ugandans doing cross border trade with EAC.

According to the 2013 EAC trade report, Uganda’s domestic exports to the EAC Partner States rose by 10.8% to US$ 525 million in 2013 from US$ 474 million recorded in 2012.
