As Africa takes centre stage as the next growth market in the world ,Standard Chartered bank has taken a step to further strengthen its senior management team in Africa, by appointing three new regional heads. The new appointees  include Ebby Essoka who was appointed Vice Chairman, Africa Region; Richard Etemesi who becomes the CEO for South Africa & Southern Africa and former StanChart Uganda CEO Lamin Manjang who has been appointed as the CEO for Kenya & East Africa.

Standard Chartered bank CEO, Africa Region ,Diana Layfield, while announcing  the new  appointments said,“I am delighted to announce these three appointments. In our 150 year history of doing business in Africa, there has never been a more exciting time to lead a bank on the continent.

Despite the global financial crisis, we have doubled the size of our African business over the past five years. Ebby, Richard and Lamin will drive our ambitious plans to invest over US$100 million over the next three years, as we open 110 new branches by 2015, while strengthening our products and services and developing our talented staff.
