I&M Bank's 3-in-1 Kingdom Kampala Branch is an epitome of what I&M Bank is repositioning to- more than just banking.

I&M Bank Uganda has moved its head office to the modern and swanky Kingdom Kampala building. 

In the customer notice posted on the bank’s social channels, the bank said: “We have relocated our Head Office to Kingdom Kampala mall located on Plot 31A-35A, 37A-39A on Nile Avenue, Kampala effective Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The functions that will be at the new location are; the executive office, corporate banking, products & channels, treasury, credit, legal, marketing & corporate communications, and compliance.”

The move was heralded by the opening of a new modern branch at the same building.  

In a statement,  Sam Ntulume, the bank’s Ag. Managing Director, CEO said  the move was part of a “continuing effort to better serve our customers.” 

“The new and modern location is more conveniently located, with spacious parking and speaks to our ambition to upgrade and align the all-around customer experience. This includes but is not limited to the streamlining and digitising of our processes, and upgrading product offerings,” he said.

Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank Uganda said the move of the bank’s headquarters, was part of a “continuous effort to have a bespoke brand image in Uganda”. 

“Since the re-brand from Orient Bank to I&M Bank (Uganda) Ltd, the look and feel of the brand has changed and that started with the rebranding of all bank branches, followed by the opening of our first signature branch⏤ the one-of-a-kind 3-in-1 Kingdom Kampala Branch that hosts our affluent banking brand known as I&M Select Banking, as well as a Corporate Banking Centre and a 24/7 digital self-service hub, known as the I&M Digital Pod. The move to our new headquarters is a part of our continuous effort to have a bespoke brand image in Uganda,” she added.  

Modern building; modern amenities

Kingdom Kampala Mall is a mixed-use building- a blend of light retail as well as 10 floors of office space. Out of the 40,000m2 built-up area, 22,000m2 is lettable, consisting of 18,000m2 of office space, 4,000m2 of retail as well as parking for up to 450 cars.   

The building has been fitted with a modern sprinkler fire suppression system consisting of a 200,000-litre water tank and 2 fire pumps with a backup generator. There is a separate holding water tank with a capacity of 150,000 litres.

The building is also equipped with 6 lifts- four with a capacity of 13 passengers and two with a capacity of 20 passengers. It also has three 500kva backup generators with a 15,000 diesel tank and has been fitted with 400 CCTVs for security. 

The building is owned by Meera Investments, a Ruparelia Group company.
