Uganda‬ to woo Tourists in South Africa fair

A contingent of Uganda’s public and private sector tourism players will exhibit at the forth coming Annual Indaba Fair due in Durban, South Africa. This event takes place from May 9th to 11th 2015 at the ICC in Durban.

Deemed the largest tourism expo on the continent, it is anticipated to attract 1,000 exhibiting companies from different countries and 6,500 Visitors, 300 Hosted Buyers,4000 Travel Professional Visitors (International & Pan African) and 200 media (Global & Pan African).

For three years now, Indaba‬ has won the award as Africa’s Best Travel and Tourism Show. This is a leading Business to Business Exhibition for Africa’s leisure travel industry, bringing the World to Africa and taking /bringing Africa to the world’s leading source markets.

This fair services all tourism channels, inbound, outbound and intra-regional, thus catering for all markets– leisure travel, luxury tourism, and the MICE/business travel sector and offering suppliers/buyers a choice for first time.

Last year, was the first time that Uganda exhibited in Durban, led by Hon Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Maria Mutagamba, with a stand space of 54sqm. The group had 6 tour companies with attendance by, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Civil Aviation Authority Uganda (CAA) and Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

This year‪, UTB, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities-Uganda, ‪‎UWA‬, ‪CAA‬ together with 14 Ugandan Tour Operators will show case Uganda’s tourism attractions, investment opportunities, hold meetings with other participating government agencies and also network with travel industry groups.

UTB will also host the Atta – African Travel & Tourism Association (ATTA) Indaba Networking Evening on 9th May 2015. The ‪‎ATTA‬ networking event this year is bringing together over 250 tourism and travel professionals from all over the world. At this event, Uganda has an opportunity to present and showcase its beauty and attractions.
