Michael Mukasa, the author, is the Chief Executive Officer, Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda

Liquid Intelligent Technologies (Liquid), a pan-African technology group, has appointed Michael Mukasa as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective October 2023.  

With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years in the telecommunications sector across Africa and the United States, Michael brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Liquid Uganda’s operations.

Liquid Uganda, benefiting both customers and the Ugandan telecommunications industry as a whole,” said Adil El Youssefi, Liquid Intelligent Technologies CEO, Rest of Africa. 

Before joining Liquid Uganda, Michael served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Uganda’s Roke Telkom, where he played a crucial role in developing and expanding the company’s existing business operations.

His wide-ranging experience spans technical, commercial, and operational disciplines, having held senior leadership positions in all three areas for prominent international businesses in the US, Rwanda, and Uganda. 

Michael has a proven track record in cultivating strong stakeholder relationships and skillfully managing contract negotiations within the telecommunications industry.

An avid football fan and part-time farmer, his qualifications include an MSc. in Electronic Commerce and a BSc. in Finance and International Business from the University of Maryland. 

On his part, Mukasa said: “Leading the Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda team is a privilege, especially as the country is at a critical juncture in Uganda’s digital transformation journey. The country’s ICT sector has witnessed remarkable investments by the government over the last two decades, including the recent announcement of the country’s first-ever digital transformation roadmap, propelling Uganda towards a digitally-led economy.”
