Executive Connect, a premier networking platform for business leaders and corporate executives, welcomed Francis Kamulegeya as the guest speaker at its executive networking event on Saturday 23rd May, at Romo House in Nairobi.
The gathering drew over 100 business leaders, corporate executives and very many influential leaders from various sectors of the Kenya economy, to listen to, learn from, as well as share experiences with Francis.
During his engaging conversation, Francis delved into the central themes of his new book, ”And Then What?.

He shared valuable leadership lessons, emphasizing the importance of agility and adaptability in today’s rapidly changing business environment. He highlighted the necessity of continuous learning and the willingness to self-disrupt to avoid stagnation in one’s career.
Francis cautioned attendees about the “competency trap,” warning that being exceptional in only one area can hinder personal growth. He encouraged them to run their own races while living within their means, saving, and investing wisely to achieve financial freedom. Additionally, he stressed the importance of building social capital through genuine and meaningful relationships, as well as preparing for the long-term inevitability of career transitions.

Executive Connect aims to foster an environment of collaboration and learning among leaders, providing a platform for sharing insights and addressing common challenges. Francis’s message resonated deeply with attendees, inspiring them to reflect on their own journeys and consider the next steps in their leadership paths.

As attendees left, they carried with them not only copies of Francis’ book – And Then What? – but also the wisdom imparted by Francis as well as used the event to network and build new contacts.
