DTB Uganda, one of Uganda’s largest banks, has opened its 36th branch at the Kapeeka Liao Shen Industrial Park, with a promise to continue easing access to convenient banking, necessary for Uganda’s development. 

The branch was officially commissioned on January 12th 2023 at a function presided over by the Chief Coordinator of the Government of Uganda’s Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), General Caleb Akandwanaho and Mr. Hannington Wasswa, the Bank of Uganda Ag. Executive Director Supervision.

“Today is a great day. As the people of Kapeeka now have a listening bank at their doorstep to serve and support them in developing the community,” DTB  Uganda Managing Director, Mr. Varghese Thambi told guests in attendance.

“ With today’s addition, we now have 36 branches. This is in addition to our vast selection of banking channels including ATMs, m24/7 mobile banking, i24/7 internet banking and over 1,000 agent banking locations,” Varghese added. 

Kenneth Kitariko, a Director at DTB Uganda said the bank looked to partner with the industrialists, suppliers and workers in the industrial park as well as the surrounding communities. 

“We hope that DTB will live up to your expectations. As we hope to partner with you in the development of our country, specifically, access to finance,” he said, adding: “DTB’s focus on the SME sector and commitment is to enhance convenience through expansion of the branch network. This has driven our Bank’s growth in recent years which is evident here today.”  

Ag. Executive Director Supervision Mr. Hannington Wasswa, congratulated the management and staff of DTB upon the opening of the new DTB Kapeeka branch. He said that DTB’s regional presence positions it as a great strategic partner for Small and Medium enterprises which the business community should take advantage of.
