Techpreneurs from Uganda and across the East African Region are set to reap from a new training program in Blockchain technology to help bolster their businesses.

The Blockchain Innovation Program which was unveiled Friday in Kampala is being conducted by CapitalSavvy, a Ugandan investment management and advisory firm, along with other local and international partners.

Under the program, techprenuers will get extensive training facilitated by BSV Blockchain Academy, and a chance to rub shoulders with experts and businesses which have built proficiency in Blockchain technology around the world.

Application for the training is underway and the program itself will kick off on 3rd October 2022 with an initial cohort of 50 participants for the 10-week semester.

The first cohort of the Blockchain Innovation Program is fully sponsored. However, an application fee of USD 50 applies. This fee will be refunded to unsuccessful applicants.

CapitalSavvy CEO Reginald Tumusiime said the program is aimed at equipping entrepreneurs with relevant web 3.0 developer skills.

“The program will entail a robust curriculum aimed at providing the relevant formative skills and crucial concepts to successfully build applications on the BSV Blockchain protocol. Students will learn at a self-space manner, on the BSV Blockchain Academy learning platform using their login details. Every fortnight, a one-hour live coaching and Q&A will be scheduled, coinciding with the physical meet-ups,” said Tumusiime.

After the 10 weeks he said, there will be a hackathon where among the 50, the best entrepreneur will be selected and sent to London for a further accelerator program with Satoshi Block Dojo- a global blockchain incubator.

 “The rest of the entrepreneurs in the program will be exposed to several projects within the BSV Blockchain ecosystem where they will have opportunities to be gainfully employed, immediately applying the acquired skills,” added Tumusiime.

Encouraging techpreneurs to apply for the golden opportunity, Tumusiime reiterated that the program is 100 sponsored by CapitalSavvy, BSV Blockchain Association and the Block Dojo London and that each of the 50 participants will be exposed to content, experience and knowledge worth more than USD50,000.

“The best participant who will finally make to London will have experience and knowledge worth over £500,000,” emphasized Tumusiime.

The program was conceived earlier this year at the BSV Blockchain convention in Dubai where the partners BSV Blockchain Association and the Block Dojo came on board.

Speaking virtually at the program launch, Evan Freeman from the BSV Academy encouraged Ugandan entrepreneurs to particulate in the program, which he said has the potential of transforming their businesses and their country.

“Africa is a land of opportunities, which is encumbered by establishment businesses which seek to protect their own financial territory,” he said.

“But the desire by the youth of this region to bring their creativity to bear with the most pressing issues is undeniable; and with the right tech and skills, Ugandans can build their nation to its fullest potential and become a model for the world. This is what the invitation program was created for,” he added.

To apply one has to visit https://bip.capitalsavvy.pro/ with a minimum set of requirements being;
