Private Equity firm Actis has confirmed that the sale of their shareholding in utility company Umeme will not affect operations at the power distributor. According to the company’s Director David Gryll, the shareholding will change but it will be business as usual in terms of service provision and operations. “As a firm we get money for investment from institutions around the world which we have to pay back after a certain period of time usually 5 to 7 years.
