Brand Africa, names Centenary Bank, Uganda’s most admired financial services brand for doing good in society, people, and the environment  

Centenary Bank, Uganda’s largest commercial micro-finance bank, has been honoured with two esteemed accolades at the prestigious Brand Africa Awards. The bank was recognised as the “Most Admired Ugandan Financial Service brand” and the “Most Admired Brand for Doing Good for Society, People, and Environment.” This was during the awards ceremony held at Golden Tulip in Kampala.

The Brand Africa 100 Awards seek to recognise and celebrate the top 100 brands throughout Africa. Brand Africa organised the awards ceremony to honour Uganda’s greatest brands. The success of the various brands in their specific sectors was examined through in-depth market research that was carried out across the continent as the foundation for these awards.

Beatrice Lugalambi, the bank’s General Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing at Centenary Bank appreciated Brand Africa for their dedication in recognising financial institutions and African Businesses.

We strive to continuously enhance the customer’s banking experience and meet their evolving needs.”

Centenary Bank has been actively involved in various initiatives to promote environmental sustainability and give back to society. At the beginning of this year, the bank embarked on a green journey, planting over 3,022 trees across major cities in the country. Additionally, the bank has partnered with Rotary in the fight against cancer in Uganda through the Rotary Cancer Run for the past 11 years. Lugalambi expressed delight that these efforts were being acknowledged and recognized.

Centenary Bank, scooped the “Most Admired Brand for Doing Good for Society, People, and Environment” and the “Most Admired Ugandan Financial Service Brand” accolades.

She further emphasized, “Our commitment to environmental conservation and our longstanding partnership with Rotary to combat cancer in Uganda are integral parts of our corporate social responsibility initiatives.”

As Centenary Bank continues to celebrate its 40 years anniversary of transforming lives, Lugalambi made a resolute pledge that the bank remains committed to its mission of becoming the preferred provider of financial solutions, especially microfinance.

“The two accolades bestowed upon Centenary Bank at the Brand Africa Awards serve as a testament to the bank’s dedication to excellence, community engagement, and environmental stewardship,” the bank said in a statement.
