Creditors Place Biscuit Maker Britania Foods under Administration

Britania Foods Limited, makers of biscuits, has been placed under administration under Peter Kahi of PKF Consulting Limited.

According to reports, Britania,s troubles come from defaulting on loans worth more than Ksh1.3 billion (UGX41.9 billion) acquired from Diamond Trust Bank – Ksh900 million (UGX29b) and other creditors.

A notice issued on August 17^th stops any director, shareholder or any other person from transacting the manufacturer’s business without authorization from the administrator.

“None of the directors, shareholders, employees and no other person is authorized to transact any business on behalf of the Company without express written consent from the administrator,” the notice reads in part.

NOTICE is hereby given that effective 6 August 2021, Mr Peter Kahi of PKF Consulting Limited was appointed as the Administrator of Britania Foods Limited (“the Company”)

With the appointment, the powers of the Administrator extend to all assets and undertaking of the Company. By virtue of the administration, the powers of the directors of the Company in dealing with the company’s assets have ceased. None of the directors, shareholders, employees and no other person is authorized to transact any business on behalf of the Company without express written consent from the administrator. Moving forward, all matters, operational or otherwise, pertaining to the affairs of the Company, should be director to the Administrator and/or his representatives.

Persons entitled may obtain Statements of Proposals, free of charge, any time after completion of fifty (50) days from the date hereof, by applying in writing to the Administrator.

Creditors of the Company are required to send full particulars of any claims that they may have against the Company to the undersigned on or before 3 September 2021

The Administrator acts on behalf of the Company without any personal liability.
