Charity Winnie Kamusiime with receives documents form the Outgoing President David Balikuddembe.

The Uganda Marketers Society has unveiled Charity Winnie Kamusiime – Asiimwe as the elected President who will equally preside over a newly inaguarated secretariat comprising other 9 directors.

The new secretariat was unveiled at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 4th at Hotel Africana following a competitive campaign period.

Kamusiime – Asiimwe, a Chartered Marketer who has over 16 years in marketing across various sectors and one of the co-founders will lead for a tenure of upto two years until 2026 , and she succeeds David Balikuddembe, a Chartered Marketer who has been serving the society as the President since March 2022.

Speaking at the AGM, Ms Kamusiime promised togetherness and marketing excellence through innovation, integrity, collaboration and sustainability as a collective effort to progress the society thus bringing value to the shareholders that include brands, organisations and marketers. She will be deputised by Caroline Ampaire as Vice President.

The other new Directors include: May Micwemirungi- Secretary General, Viola Mboneko Rusoke (MCIM)- Director Ethics and Integrity, John Birungi Babirukamu (MCIM)- Director Thought Leadership, James Asaba- Director Membership, Dear Jeanne- Director Events & Sponsorships, Primrose Kobusingye- Director Finance, Danny Kwizera (MBA, ACIM)- Director Public Relations.

Balikuddembe, commended the UMS Secretariat elect for the passion expressed during this election as the most participated election since its inception.

He also thanked all partners including those who have been with UMS since its inception which include Vision Group, Crown beverages Ltd, Uganda Breweries Ltd & Next Media(NBS). Additionally, sister companies that include; Uganda Advertising Association (UAA), Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) and high-level partners that include African Marketing Confederation (AMC) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK).

The new leadership is expected to steer the society to achieve its 2024-2026 vision, “to become the leading body for marketing practitioners and professionals inspired towards the development, promotion, and application of world-class marketing leadership”.

Uganda Marketers Society is a membership body and is affiliated to the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK).

CIM is the world’s largest community of marketers that strives for business leaders and opinion formers to recognise the positive contribution that professional marketing can bring to their organisations, the economy and wider society.
