Veracity Worldwide, a leading business intelligence and strategic advisory firm, has appointed Jimmy D. Mugerwa as their new regional advisor operating in the East African energy sector.
Mugerwa is Uganda Breweries Limited Non-Executive Director since June 2018. He is also the chairman, Board of Directors, dfcu Bank.
He is one of the most experienced business leaders in oil and gas with a senior leadership career spanning nearly three decades in the energy sector of Africa and Europe. He has gained extensive experience across the oil and gas value chain during that time.
Most prominently, he helped in the exploration and development of the Lake Albert basin oil fields, along with the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) during his time as Managing Director for Tullow Oil.
As an Executive with broad experience in managing teams to develop strategy and execution, Mugerwa leads with passion, create value, and make a difference in company success and in people’s lives.
He also strives to be a visible and focused leader, especially in times of crisis; managing through ambiguity and challenging relationships to reach win-win results.
The Business Advisory is known for pushing the edges by constructively challenging the status quo, holding people accountable and make the tough decisions.
He leads teams managing complex projects, build relationships with senior political and government leaders, and tap into the networks of African opinion leaders.
Mugerwa also happened to be director of Petroleum Institute of East Africa
From 2009 to 2012, he was Shell’s Country Chair Kenya / Sales & Operations General Manager. Here, he managed the downstream business across 3 countries of East Africa – Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, including Retail, Business-to-Business, Supply & Distribution, Health & Safety, and Security & Environment (HSSE).
He was also Senior Regional Advisor Sub-Saharan Africa, Shell International BV in The Hague, Netherlands and also Retail Marketing Manager, Shell Oil Products Africa, Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.
