Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has registered a 17.6% growth in revenue collections to record Ushs 8.1 trillion in the 9 month period between July 2015 and March 2016.  This performance is however Ushs 194.62 billion below target at 97.66% for the said period. The Authority now has 3 months to collect Ushs 3.3 trillion to beat the Ushs 12 trillion target set by Ministry of Finance for financial year 2015/2016. According to URA Acting Commissioner General Dickson Kateshumbwa this is possible.

“It is important to note we performed very well in the first 6 months of this period. Performance in the last 3 months however was affected by the election fever which was temporary. Now everything is back to normal, we are seeing businesses begin to import again and we are confident that in the remaining months things will stabilize,
