Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) will continue to ensure further development and growth of the Insurance sector, the Association’s CEO Miriam Magala has said. It will also work to increase the understanding of insurance and ensure the establishment of a favorable business and regulatory environment. This according to Magala should drive penetration from the current 0.85 percent to 2.1 percent in the next 5 years.
She was addressing the media at the Association’s Annual General Meeting held at the Kampala Serena Hotel. UIA will in June this year celebrate 50 years of existence.

Among our key achievements during this period are the establishment of our national reinsurance company, building capacity through our training programs, establishment and enforcement of a code of conduct as well as a positive working relationship with the regulator,
