Bombadier CRJ-900

Uganda Airlines has suspended its flights to Democratic Republic of Congo capital city, Kinshasa, after violent riots and attacks on several foreign embassies today.

The Airline said in a statement that the suspension has become necessary as a result of the ongoing unrest in the DRC, including the capital  Kinshasa.

Before the suspension, the Airline’s Bombadier CRJ-900 had a frequency of four flights per week between Tuesday and Saturday.

“Flights will remain suspended until the situation warrants normal operations,” the statement said.

No official statement has been issued so far from the Embassy of Uganda in DRC.

On Sunday, M23 rebels closed in Goma city in eastern DRC, closing its airspace as war escalates across the DRC.

This is a developing story….
