A number of roadside businesses are cropping up with the construction of the oil roads in the Albertine Graben. The key roads under construction include Masindi-Kigumba-Hoima-Kabwoya (135 Km), Kyenjojo-Hoima-Masindi-Kigumba (238 Km) and Hoima-Wanseko (111 Km). The delayed compensation of over 1,000 residents of Kikongi parish in Bwambara sub-county in Rukungiri district has slowed the tarmacking of Rukungiri-Kanungu-Ishasha road. President, Yoweri Museveni commissioned the tarmacking of the 78.5km road stretched valued at Shillings 207.8 billion in December 2018.
