NSSF wins UGX43 billion tax case against Uganda Revenue Authority

Commercial Court Judge, Justice Boniface Wamala has dismissed a UGX42.7 billion tax case against the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). This followed NSSF’s appeal of a 27th March 2020 ruling by the Tax Appeals Tribunal (TAT) in favour of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Uganda’s tax-collecting agency. Uganda Revenue Authority wins 13 tax cases worth UGX103.5 billion

Uganda Revenue Authority has in the last 3 months, won thirteen tax suits worth UGX103,345,211,794 in the Tax Appeals Tribunal. The rulings that were made between March and May 2020 mostly pertain to Value Added Tax (VAT), Excise Duty, Withholding Tax and Income Tax.
