The opening of the Sanlam Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism to Ugandan financial journalism reporters adds to other prestigious awards such as Uganda National Journalism Awards, run by the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) in the country.

Sanlam Uganda announced Monday that it will open the award to Ugandan journalists who stand to be recognised and rewarded for exceptional business journalism like the life insurance giants have done since 1974.
Speaking at the launch in Kampala on Monday, Donato Laboke, the general manager in charge of marketing and brand at Sanlam Uganda, highlighted the exceptional work that business reporters have done since last year to date and how the award is a great opportunity for not just showcasing their work but also getting recognised for it.
