As Uganda prepares to refine its own oil come 2017, other preparation in ensuring the refinery is build are ongoing and nearing completion.
With government nearing completion of compensating the people where the refinery will be built in Kabaale parish Buseruka Sub county in Bugahya county Hoima district, the road to deliver the much needed refinery equipment is nearing completion.

Working with all the determination to meet the deadline for completion of the Hoima-Kaisotonya road, Turkey`s Kolin Construction Company the company that was contracted to build the 92 kilometres road to the oil wells in Kaisotonya says the road will be completed on schedule despite the rainy season that has began in the area.
To date up to 45 kilometres of the road have been tarmacked and are ready only waiting marking and erecting of road signposts.

According to Mr. Charles Ogwang the Kolin construction Health and safety engineer speaking on behalf of the project manager Mr.Ayden Onder, the road will be complete by December 2014. The road built to last 20 years is one of the strongest and wide roads ever built in Uganda as it spans a width of 11 metres and built to carry mostly heavy trucks.
Ogwanga says the road has 3 base layers of stone in 30, 15 and 15 cms, and an asphalt cover of two layers in 10 and 8 cms which makes it the strongest road ever in Uganda. It has fills ranging from 3 metres to 5 metres in some areas which make it a special road.
On the percentage of work so far done Ogwang says, “so far we can comfortably say 78% of the work is complete and only 22% is remaining,
