Fifteen years ago, Godfrey Kasagga was a fresh Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduate from the Uganda Christian University (UCU), with big dreams of changing the world.
But like they say, even a journey of 1000 miles, starts with one step.
After graduation, he landed a Network Administrator role at Bukasa Telecom, a small tech company, in Kampala, Uganda. At the time, the company was implementing a major network rollout assignment in Uganda and Rwanda, for the MTN Group, Africa’s largest telco.
He would later move to the United States of America in the Q3 of 2012. After some IT stints in selected companies, in November 2013 he assumed a Specialist, IT Administration role at T-Mobile.
A 500 Fortune company, T-Mobile US Inc (T-Mobile), is a majority Dutch Telekom AG-owned provider of telecommunications services. It is among the top three telcos in the US, with 118 million customers, as of Q3 2023 and grossed USD79.6 billion in 2022. Services include wireless telecom services, as well as a host of other services, such as voice, text messaging, video calling, and data communications.

At T-Mobile, where he has been for the last 10 years, he has risen through various roles such as Specialist IT Administration, then Senior and Lead Specialist, eventually becoming Lead Specialist, Executive IT Administration, his current role.
He is regarded as a highly experienced specialist in technology and in his role, he works with top executives and the office of the CEO in shaping end-user technology experience. He is part of the team helping to digest new technologies, AI trends and cyber operations to drive improvements in the end-user experience while making a huge impact on organisational success.
His extensive career and experience at T-Mobile has seen him represent, partner and contribute his skills and knowledge to various big tech companies like Google and Cisco Webex.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology (BScIT) from Uganda Christian University and has continued to extend his career in various studies and certifications in IT like CCNA CYBEROPS, CCNA Security, ITIL, HDI-DAST etc.
