The Christmas season has an atmosphere of joy and magic that can not be found any other time of the year.
The season brings out the best in all of us. It evokes warm fuzzies, smiles and memories of fun times spent with our loved ones laughing and having a great time. However, this is not the case with the underprivileged children that live just on our doorstep.
They are deprived of any means to celebrate Christmas with it’s magic.
This year, Ruparelia Foundation has organized a Christmas party- “Make Their Christmas One to Remember” for underprivileged children in partnership with Unilever (U) Limited, Crown Beverages, Lato Milk, The Dawa Foundation, Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kabira Country Club, Kampala Parents School, Victoria University, IUAF, Kampala Kids Run and individual sponsors too.
The purpose of the event is to give these children a Christmas experience that they otherwise would not have and to make their memory of it one to remember.
The event shall take place on Sunday, December 15th at Kampala Parents School playgrounds from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The children shall be treated to snacks, drinks, lunch, live music, outdoor activities, entertainment, gifts, to mention a few.
Over the weekend, Ruparelia Foundation trustees; Sheena Ruparelia and Naiya Ruparelia visited Angel’s Center in Nansana and Katanga Kid’s project in Katanga to personally invite the children for the Christmas party and also spend sometime with the children. A donation of drinks, biscuits, milk, sweets and a pledge of four sewing machines was made during the visit.
“We can’t change their lives overnight but we can start small by organizing such events,” says Naiya Ruparelia. She adds, “My times with these amazing children will always make me appreciate what I have and to remain content and humble for they’re so happy despite their situation.” “We are looking forward to spending more time on the 15th” says Sheena Ruparelia.
