The delayed compensation of over 1,000 residents of Kikongi parish in Bwambara sub-county in Rukungiri district has slowed the tarmacking of Rukungiri-Kanungu-Ishasha road. President, Yoweri Museveni commissioned the tarmacking of the 78.5km road stretched valued at Shillings 207.8 billion in December 2018. The project is being executed by China Henan International Corporation under the supervision of Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA.
