AB & David has been named winner of “African Law Firm of the Year – Large Practice award” at the 2021 edition of the Africa Legal Awards hosted by Legal Week and the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa (CCASA). The announcement was made at an online event held on September 3, 2021.
The award recognises exceptional achievement from Africa’s legal community and is the most sought-after award by Africa’s top elite firms.
Speaking after the awards, the Managing Partner of AB & David Uganda, Daniel Lubogo, said that the award is a big sign of confidence in AB & David by clients and the corporate community through Africa and is important at this time of Africa’s growth especially as it coincides with the implementation of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area and the unfolding events of the new decade.

This prestigious 2021 award follows the recent expansion of the AB & David into Kenya with Oraro and Company Advocates joining the AB & David family. The coming on board of Oraro & Co. Advocates of Kenya added to AB & David presence in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Mauritius and Ghana and to a network of best friend firms that enable the law firm to serve its clientele in 30 countries across Africa. Oraro is a leading law firm in Kenya.
AB & David was the first law firm in Africa to obtain the Lexcel accreditation mark by the law society of England and Wales which is a mark issued for quality and high standards.
During the Annual Law Conference held early this month, the Uganda Law Society awarded AB & David an award for recommending the Uganda Law Society Legal Aid Project for a grant from the International Bar Association. Courtesy of this recommendation, Uganda Law Society Legal Aid Project was granted 10,000 pounds by the International Bar Association as support towards the Legal Aid project. This award was received by the Managing Partner of AB & David Uganda, Daniel Lubogo on behalf of AB & David Africa team.
