A seasoned internal auditor with 20 years’ experience in auditing, risk management, compliance assessment, governance and fraud investigations, Mercy Nagaddya is Director, Internal Audit and Compliance Joint Medical Store.
She served in various roles and capacities including manufacturing, energy and pharmaceutical.
At JMS, Mercy leads the overall direction and leadership of the internal audit, risk and compliance function, and plans and conducts operational, financial and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and organizational risks. She supports the Board of Directors and Management in fulfilling their oversight roles.
The internal audits, risk and compliance assessments carried out together with her Internal Audit Regulatory and Compliance team have not only helped in making an effective internal control system at JMS but have also led the organization to achieve its strategic objectives (i.e. improved productivity, growth, improved financial results, improved sales).
Mercy is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a member of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda. She is a Certified Risk Analyst and holds a master of Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Scotland.
She has served on various boards and is currently the Secretary – JMS Audit Committee, Chairperson – Supervisory Committee JMS Staff SACCO, Board Member – RUNA and Co-founder and CEO Kyson Global Link.
