ACOF has announced the appointment of three highly accomplished professionals to its Board of Directors, effective 1 October 2025. The new non-executive directors are Ms. Amanda Kabagambe, Ms. Sibongile Maputla, and Ms. Mazvita Maradzika.

The appointments bring a wealth of expertise in investment management, private capital, and financial services to the ACOF Board, further strengthening its governance and strategic direction. All three appointees currently serve on ACOF’s Investment Committee, providing continuity and depth of insight to the organization’s leadership.

Profiles of the New Appointees

Amanda Kabagambe

Amanda is a seasoned transaction advisor and management consultant with more than 14 years of experience across East Africa. She has arranged over $26 million in investments and advised on transactions exceeding $150 million. As Chair of the East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) Uganda, Amanda has worked closely with investment funds and spearheaded strategic projects for both the World Bank and the Government of Uganda. Notably, she has structured a $1.5 billion economic stimulus package and facilitated co-investment partnerships to support SMEs. Her work emphasizes inclusive growth and private sector development.

Sibongile (“Sibo”) Maputla

Sibongile is the founder and CEO of Squirrel Away, a South African investment gifting platform. With more than 24 years of global financial services experience across South Africa, London, and New York, she has played a central role in scaling Benguela Global Fund Managers to R8 billion in assets under management within just five years. Alongside her executive leadership, Sibo contributes strategic oversight and governance across several boards and investment committees in asset management, private capital, and development-focused ventures.

Mazvita Maradzika

With two decades of experience in financial services, Mazvita has worked extensively in financial reporting, private equity, impact investing, and strategic advisory. She is the director and founder of MJR Advisory Services and serves as an investment consultant at Afrishela Fund. Her previous senior roles include Managing Director of SEI1 Ltd, Executive Director at Siyakha Capital Advisors, and Transactor at Identity Capital Partners. Through her leadership, she has guided acquisition teams, managed diverse investment portfolios, and championed inclusive finance and sustainable investment solutions.
