Hope Ekudu, dfcu Bank's new Chief Operating Officer. joins dfcu from Housing Finance Bank (HFB) where she has led several roles.

Hope Ekudu has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer at Uganda’s 5th largest bank by assets (UGX2.9 trillion) dfcu Bank.

A  certified Retail Banker, ITIL certified (foundation level), Ekudu  who wields over 13 years banking experience, brings a wealth of knowledge  in business development, operations, strategic planning, IT project management, change and risk management demonstrated  in large and medium sized enterprises.

She joins dfcu from Housing Finance Bank (HFB) where she has led several roles. She joined the bank in July 2014 as Head of Bank Operations and for 6 years, she has been instrumental in the bank’s operations department having served in different capacities including Head of Operations and Business Technology, Head of Retail Banking, Head of Operations and Business Technology as well as Head of Business and Institutional banking.

Before HFB, she served at Barclays Uganda (now Absa Uganda) as Manager, Payments and International Services where she was in charge of the payments processing team, dealing with foreign and local currency transactions for the bank. From there, she was appointed Head of Payments.

At dfcu, she joins the senior management team where she will be responsible for among other aspects driving strategic leadership to the operations department of the bank as well as establishing operational excellence.

Ekudu holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland) and Bachelor’s degree, Statistics from Makerere University.

She also an alumnus of the Advanced Management Programme (an executive leadership by Strathmore University, Kenya) and the CEO apprenticeship programme run by the CEO summit in Uganda.

She went to Gayaza High School for her secondary education.
