Community members neighboring Shell Kibuye have benefitted from a health drive organized by Vivo Energy Uganda, the company that distributes and markets Shell products and services. The drive was held in the week ending Friday 9th May 2014 in partnership with Uganda Cares an HIV/AIDS support organization, the Nakasero Blood Bank and other health services providers. It involved HIV testing, blood donation, as well as free counseling on family planning.
Speaking during the drive Vivo Energy Retail Manager Edward Walugembe said the company realizes one of the challenges facing Uganda’s health system is poor access to health facilities. “Vivo Energy Uganda realizes and understands the need to bring health services closer to the community to ensure that the members of the community in which we live and work, live healthy lives.
