Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga, is a free man after his release from detention on Friday evening.
Dr Muganga was reportedly arrested on Thursday from his office by Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) operatives.
Military Spokesperson Col. Ronald Kakurungu said that Dr. Muganga had been arrested over illegal stay in the country and espionage activities.

“I am finally out and thankful for the public support. Thank you Uganda” Dr. Muganga said after his release last evening, adding that he was grateful for the publicsupport.

His work is majorly on research, planning, developing, implementing, and assessing policies that contribute towards human capital development and improving the quality of life for populations.
