Ian Muhimbise Rumanyika, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Manager Public and Corporate Affairs, has been named among the top 100 Public Relations (PR) practitioners.
According to the latest PR Measurement Influencer Index, Rumanyika occupies 29th slot out of 100.
His recognition came during the Measurement Month (November), a global education programme by the International Association of Measurement & Evaluation of Communication (AMEC).
The PR Measurement Influencer Index looks at some of the most prominent Twitter users who help drive the Communications Measurement debate.
Rumanyika has 9,450 followers on Twitter and his Influence score was ranked at 31.3.
The PR Measurement Twitter Influencer Index uses Commetric’s proprietary influencer mapping methodology and human analyst expertise to identify social media influencers actively participating in the Twitter discussion around PR analytics and communications measurement and evaluation.
The Index is based on both quantitative and qualitative evaluation of English language Twitter data and does not pretend to present the most influential Twitter users.

At the URA, Ian is charged with enhancing the taxman’s image and visibility, media relations and management, stakeholder engagement, crisis communication and managing global relations to intensify URA’s visibility and corporate image. Ian possesses great analytical skills, ability to maintain effective partnerships and has a very pleasant personality, which explains his capacity to interact with a broad spectrum of people.
He runs the PR Fundi Master classes as Lead facilitator and host and is a consultant at Node Group Ltd – a public relations and marketing communications agency, focused on branding and media outreach campaigns designed to maximize effective communication
Ian serves in different capacities, a board member at the URA SACCO, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC), and Board chairman at the Corporate Games Uganda. All of these have benefited from his strategic leadership counsel and ongoing public relations support.
Rumanyika holds a Bachelor’s degree of Commerce/ Marketing and went on to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration/Marketing and Communication from Makerere University.
He is also a Certified Change Management Practitioner with PROSCI, Certified PR professional with a CIPR Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered international Public Relations Institute UK, Certified Marketing professional from Chartered institute of Marketing UK.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK), Project Management Institute (PMI), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
