Ian Rumanyika, the Ag. Assistant Commissioner Public and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has been appointed a committee member of CIPR Inside, an international specialist group of the Chartered Institute for Public Relations Global. The group is for Public Relations, internal communication and employee engagement professionals.
He will, together with other committee members, aim at raising professional standards and sharing best practices of Public relations at a global level.
Who is Ian Rumanyika
Ian Muhimbise Rumanyika is a seasoned Communications and Marketing specialist with an experience spanning over twelve years in Public relations and marketing. He currently serves as the Ag. Assistant Commissioner-Public Relations and Corporate Affairs at the Uganda Revenue Authority.
At the URA, Ian is charged with enhancing the entity’s image and visibility, media relations and management, stakeholder engagement, crisis communication and managing global relations to intensify URA’s visibility and corporate image. Ian possesses great analytical skills, ability to maintain effective partnerships and has a very pleasant personality, which explains his capacity to interact with a broad spectrum of people.
He runs the PR Fundi Master classes as Lead facilitator and host and is a consultant at Node Group Ltd – a public relations and marketing communications agency, focused on branding and media outreach campaigns designed to maximize effective communication.
Companies Rise or Fall on How Well They Renew Their LeadersIan serves in different capacities, a board member at the URA SACCO, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC), and Board chairman at the Corporate Games Uganda. All of these have benefited from his strategic leadership counsel and ongoing public relations support.
Education
Rumanyika holds a Bachelor’s degree of Commerce/ Marketing and went on to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration/Marketing and Communication from Makerere University.
He is also a Certified Change Management Practitioner with PROSCI, Certified PR professional with a CIPR Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered international Public Relations Institute UK, Certified Marketing professional from Chartered institute of Marketing UK.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK), Project Management Institute (PMI), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
