Joan Mugenzi


Professional Certified Coach (PCC)


Joan is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and a Certified Transformational Master Coach with 385 hours of coach training and over 850 hours of coaching.

Joan has trained in coaching up to the highest level (Mastery), and wholly believes in the need for people to experience professional coaching. She is the Founding president of the International Coaching Federation Uganda Chapter.

Whether one is getting into a new job, moving into the next opportunity within the organization, grappling with management and leadership transition role, or planning on exiting, Joan enjoys facilitating the conversations.

Through her company, Imagine Me, Africa, Joan is on a mission to see that employers have employee exit strategies that look beyond pension and gratuity. Imagine Me Africa’s vision is a world where every employee transitions or retires into a fulfilling productive life.

She is the author of Corporates at a Crossroads; Knowing that your job isn’t eternal and acting on that knowledge, which you can access on Amazon.com or Aristoc Booklex, and has a free masterclass based on the book which you can find on YouTube under, Coach Joan Mugenzi.

Joan has vast experience working with executive leaders in the NGO sector in close to 30 countries. She provided technical oversight in World Vision International health programmes covering 25 countries in East, West and Southern Africa. She has been in the motivational and coaching space for eight years, and engaged teams across various sectors in the corporate and public sectors including: Banking and Financial Services, Fund managers, Local and International NGOs, Academia, Private sector and Government Parastatals. Joan currently serves as an Executive Coach for the Strathmore University Business School in Uganda (for the CEO Apprenticeship Programme); she is a Career Coach for the Women in News (WIN) programme, an Executive Coach for the VillageReach Global Management Team spread across Europe, the US, Subsaharan Africa, and has most recently been appointed to offer team coaching in Uganda to USAID’s Policy Link project focused on growing leaders (Permanent Secretary level and equivalent) across Africa for the Agricultural sector

She holds a Masters degree in Public Health Leadership from Uganda Christian University and prides herself in focusing on the health of the mind. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Media Management from Uganda Management Institute. Joan is an International Coach Federation Professional Certified Coach; serves on the Coach Masters Academy global faculty spread in over 40 countries. Joan is also a Jack Canfield Success Principles Trainer; Jack is America’s success coach and Fortune 500 business coach for over 40 years whose success principles are applicable across any sector.

She is a Director of Training in Uganda for Coach Masters Academy, an academy spread in 40 countries. Through this Academy, Joan has been directly involved in the training and supervising of over 300 coaches globally.

In the coaching space, she is a strong advocate for quality professional coaching that she was among six coaches that birthed the idea of forming the International Coaching Federation Uganda Chapter, where she is the Founding President.

Joseph Ajal

Joseph Ajal is an HR Professional, Associate Certified Coach (ACC™), Certified Talent Practitioner (CTP), Chartered HR Business Partner, Fellow of the American Academy of Project Management (FAAPM), MSc. HRM/D (University of Manchester) is a very passionate believer in the transformational power of people in the bigger picture of the organisation. 

Joseph is a certified Balanced Scorecard Professional, by George Washington University and a certified Korn Ferry Hay Job Evaluator with15 Years of Talent Development Experience and 3 Years as a Professional Coach. He has enjoyed practising the HR trade and coaching in the pension sector, multimedia industry, life insurance, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), telecoms, as well as being an OD and L&D practitioner. Winner of the Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Training and Development at the Africa Best Employer Brand Awards in Mauritius in December 2017, Finalist in the Best L&D Champion Category at the LRMG, Skillsoft, Sum Total Cafe Africa eLearning Conference in Mauritius, November 2015. He was an Equity and Merit Fellow at The University of Manchester. 

He holds an MSc. HRM/D (International Development (The University of Manchester), Post Graduate Diploma in HRM/D (Uganda Management Institute) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Development.  He is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC™), Certified Talent Practitioner (CTP), Chartered HR Business Partner, Fellow of the American Academy of Project Management (FAAPM).  Certified Balanced Scorecard Professional, by George Washington University and a certified Korn Ferry Hay Job Evaluator.

Stephen Mukasa


Professional Certified Coach (PCC)


Stephen Mukasa is the Country Representative of Strathmore University in Uganda and the Country Director – Strathmore Business School (SBS), Uganda. He is an Accountant by profession and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting option) from Makerere University and a Master of Business Administration from Strathmore University, as well as a Pan African EMBA Module Certificate from IESE Business School (Spain).

He is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) – Professional Certified Coach (PCC). He started his coaching journey (in April 2017) by undertaking the Accredited Coach Training Programme (ACTP) with The Performance Solution (TPS) – United Kingdom. Stephen has over 300 hours of coaching experience and he is also a certified trainer/ user of 4 psychometric tools: Clarity4D®, iWAM, Extended DISC® and the Personal Development Analysis (PDA).

He is involved in coaching Senior Executives in the CEO Apprenticeship Programme (CAP), the Custom and Open Programmes of SBS in Uganda such as the Bank of Uganda – Accelerated Leadership Academy, NSSF Uganda Leadership Excellence Academy, the absa Uganda Manager Essentials Programme, the National Information & Technology Authority (NITA) Leadership Academy, the Senior Managers Development Programme (SMDP), the Management Development Programme (MDP) to mention but a few.

He sits on the Boards of Strathmore Research and Consultancy Centre (SRCC) Uganda, the League of East African Directors (LEAD) – of which he is one of the Founding Directors, Kelim Foundation, Buildware Centre (U) Limited and he is also a Trustee of the CEO Summit Uganda – a Private Sector Think Tank which brings together all Tier 1 Corporate Leaders in Uganda.

He was also part of the team that designed and coauthored the Personality Enhancement Programme (PEP) that is used in some of the universities, as well as secondary schools in Uganda and Rwanda. Stephen is keen on extreme sports, with a particular mention of whitewater rafting, in which he has so far garnered over 280 km of rafting on the Nile with Adrift Uganda.

Mathias Katamba


Professional Certified Coach (PCC)


Mathias Katamba is an ICF Certified Coach and a seasoned business leader with over 22 years of executive experience in the financial sector.  Currently, he is Chief Executive Officer of dfcu Bank, Chairman of Uganda Bankers’ Association, Director at UAP Old Mutual Uganda, Chairman, Central Broadcasting Services and a member of the Presidential CEO Forum.

Prior to dfcu, he was the Managing Director of Housing Finance Bank which he led through a major transformation in its digital offering, customer experience and turnaround in financial performance.

Before that he was Co-founder and Managing Partner of Progression Capital Africa a Private Equity Fund providing capital and technical support to microfinance institutions in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia.

He also previously served as CEO of Finance Trust, transforming the institution from an MDI to acquiring regulatory approval for a Tier 1 Commercial Bank license.

He has also previously served as the Chairman of the Uganda Institute of Bankers, Chairman/National President of the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Uganda (AMFIU), Member of the Investment Committee of the Deutsche Bank Global Commercial Microfinance Consortium, Member of the Steering Committee for Client Protection (SMART Campaign) at the Center for Financial inclusion and Director at the Private Sector Foundation in Uganda.

He also previously held various positions at Orient Bank Limited, Post Bank Uganda, Barclays Africa, Pride Uganda and Pride Microfinance Limited.

He has Advanced Executive Leadership training from Strathmore Business School (Strathmore University Kenya), IESE Business School (University of Navara, Spain), Lagos Business School Nigeria,  Harvard Kennedy School (Harvard University) and Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania).

He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a Master of Science in Financial Management from the University of East London and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Greenwich.

Josephine Mukumbya


Associate Certified Coach (ACC)


Josephine is a Coach credentialed by the International Coach Federation as an Associate Certified Coach. She is also a member of the International Coach Federation body. To date, she has clocked over 200 hours of coaching time to executives and prospects from varied sectors. She feels both privileged and humbled to be part of the interim board that has set up the ICF Ugandan Chapter, which is a major milestone in the professionalization of Coaching in Uganda.

Serving on the founding board has allowed Josephine to interact with a number of Coaching professionals, who she has observed are deeply passionate about the recognition of this profession in Uganda and the value it brings to individuals and Corporates through the enhanced performance when they fully embrace it.

She is particularly passionate about executive coaching for especially the young ladies who are looking to attain or maintain leadership positions in their various fields of work. Noting that her leadership journey has been positively impacted by improved -self-awareness through coaching sessions she has had and given, she commits to creating this enabling platform for especially the young ladies with untapped potential.

Samuel A. Bakutana


Samuel A. Bakutana is an Executive Coach Internationally Certified as a Transformative Coach (professionally trained by Coach Masters Academy and Harvard Business School), a Leadership Consultant, an Inspirational Speaker and author of 15 books. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Inspired Leaders International – a reputable Executive Leadership and Organizational Development firm that excels in world-class human capital development solutions.

She is the founder of KweraBITS ltd (a nutritional company) and together with her husband they have set up KweraBITS restaurants for healthy meals, she is passionate about coaching, Nutrition and women empowerment.

Norah Njuba Bwaya


Professional Certified Coach


Norah Njuba Bwaya is a Certified Executive Coach, Organization Development and Change Consultant, Facilitator and Trainer with working experience spanning 4 careers (Accountancy, Marketing, Insurance, Coaching) in 21 countries across 3 continents (Africa, Europe, America). As a Coach, Norah has served top executives in over 100 organizations. She is the Founder of the first coaching firm in Eastern Africa – Coach Africa Ltd.

She has offered performance enhancement interventions for teams in the public, development and private sectors supporting people and organization development for over 20 years. She has a track record of performance in various industries and sectors including petroleum, health, banking, hospitality, insurance, beverages and, the development sector.

Norah is the Board Chairperson for Alliance Africa Insurance and Institute of Work Culture and Ethics; and Board Director for Equity Bank and Majestic Brands (Buganda Kingdom). A Rotarian, PHF*3, Benefactor, Past Assistant Governor, Avenues of Service Citation Award 2006/7.

Norah holds a Doctorate in Executive Performance from Middlesex University, UK; is a credentialed Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – International Coaching Federation; A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) Hons. from Makerere University, and several certificates from Harvard Business School.

Nazeem Mohamed


Nazeem has over 40 years of business experience in the global pharmaceutical sector and currently advises different organisations as an International Pharmaceutical Consultant.

Previously he served as the Head of the Pharmaceutical Sector for Industrial Promotion Services (IPS), the for-profit part of the Aga Khan Development Network and was the CEO at Kampala Pharmaceutical Industries (KPI), located in Uganda. Before returning to Uganda in 2003, Nazeem was vice-president of strategic product development at Novo Nordisk, based originally in Denmark and then in Belgium. He also worked for leading multinational companies such as Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline, mostly in international marketing management and strategic product development, living and working in the UK, Belgium, Denmark and the USA.

Among his various appointments, Nazeem is the past Chairman of the Federation of East African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (FEAPM) and the current Vice-Chair of the Federation of African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (FAPMA). He also served as the Chairman of Aga Khan Foundation regional committee for East Africa.

Nazeem is a coach and a member of the ICF Uganda chapter and very interested to work with entrepreneurs to help them reach their potential and achieve their goals.

Moses Mbubi Witta


Moses is currently working at Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL) as the General Manager. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Edinburg Business School, Herriot Watt University and a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University.

In the last 20 years of his professional HR Career, he has been in Uganda and South Africa where he has worked for leading corporate companies and brands like British American Tobacco Uganda, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa and Stanbic Bank Uganda.

He is an ICF Certified Professional coach and the current President of the HR Managers Association of Uganda since 2018 – a premier association for all HR professionals in Uganda.

Moses has a passion for leadership development and has contributed to the career development of many HR professionals within Uganda.

Miriannie Kaamate Ndyanabo


Miriannie Kaamate Ndyanabo is a Certified Professional Coach who has listened, walked with many and guided them into their ideal life and most authentic self, as they navigate into their desired moments of change. With her most recent assignment at Petroleum Authority Uganda, Mirian was happy to take part in more than 100 hours of coaching with great people. Coaching is her great bite. As an HR professional, Miriannie, is passionate about growing people and bringing being into workplaces.

Miriannie knows how best to align talent to organizational goals. She is The Headteacher at the British School of Kampala Secondary section. She also sits on the Audit Health Committee of the Ministry of Finance, where she participates in the auditing of the 20 referral hospitals in Uganda. She was happy to take up an opportunity by UN Women as they crafted their national programme on Men at Work.

Over the years, she has facilitated more than 100 parenting sessions and written more than 1000 parenting cards. It is from these that she started identifying with the needs of Boys and Men. Her advocacy for the boy child has attracted many parents and guardians to her, to help in the mentoring of their children. She is happiest when Men and boys reach out for support and guidance on issues ranging from parenting, relationships, preparation for marriage, how to cope at workplaces, transitioning/onboarding in a new environment and surviving in abusive relationships among many. On this journey, Mirian has also benefited and she has been humbled and happy to learn and unlearn from the best.

Miriam Naigembe


Miriam Naigembe is a seasoned banker with over twenty years of banking experience, ten of which have been in senior leadership positions, leading cross-functional and collaborative teams.

Currently, the Head Digital Transformation at Stanbic Bank Uganda, Uganda’s largest bank, Miriam’s strengths, include strategic thinking as well as banking operations and retail management.  She also has a good appreciation of risk profiling and management. 

A Bcom graduate from the Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University and an MBA Holder from Makerere University, Miriam started her banking career as a Manager for electronic banking at dfcu Bank, in 2007, rising to become Head of Operations in August 2011.  She then joined Stanbic Bank as Head of Production in 2013 and has since then served in other roles that include, Head of Operations and Head of Customer Channels, before being elevated to the Head, Digital Transformation in August 2020.

In that role, she is responsible for the design and implementation of Stanbic Bank’s digital strategy to achieve organisational transformation initiatives that support innovation, business growth, digital sustainability, commerciality and market competitiveness. She is also charged with delivering best in class technology solutions, and process improvements in a fast and agile manner using available data to meet dynamic customer needs.

Mireille Ineza Karera


Professional Certified Coach


Mireille Ineza Karera is the Group CEO at KORA Coaching Group Ltd, a Coaching & Consulting company based in Rwanda and South Africa. Mireille is the Faculty Lead Coach at KORA Coaching & Business Academy (KCA), which is a subsidiary of the Group. She is a Rwandan Businesswoman who recently returned to Africa after spending over 13 years working as a Top Performer in Sales, Business Development Strategy for Global Financial Services Providers such as Moody’s Investor Services, EBS Dealing Resources (now ICAP) and Thomson Reuters in London, Dubai, Johannesburg and Nairobi.

As a leading Coach and Public Speaker, Mireille is a sought-after speaker for conferences on Business issues and Women Economic Empowerment.  Under her leadership, KORA Coaching Group Ltd. launched the very first Professional Coaching Academy in Rwanda. Milton Steven Owor


Milton Steven Owor is a Human Resources and Business Management Professional with 20+ years of International work experience with several global multinational companies, including British American Tobacco Plc (BAT), Royal Dutch Shell, and General Electric Company (GE), working in several countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States of America. He has held several senior leadership roles, including Regional Human Resources Director for BAT Eastern & Southern Africa, Regional Human Resources Director for West & Central Africa, among many others. At Shell, he was Regional Human Resources Director for Anglophone Africa, before moving on to join General Electric Company (GE) as the Human Resources Director for Africa.

After close to 20 years working in different parts of the world, he returned home in Uganda in 2017 to work with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), as the Head of Human Resources and Administration, a position he holds to date. 

He is a Certified Professional Transformational Coach (Advanced Practitioner) and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He holds an MBA (University of Leicester, UK), Certification in Global Business Management (INSEAD, France), Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics and Public Administration) from Makerere University, among others.

Milton is passionate about growth and transformational leadership, growing leaders and working with individuals and teams to unlock their hidden, often unrecognised, human potential. He is a coach and mentor to many mid and senior-level professionals, both in Uganda and Kenya.

Rose Mercy Sendegeya


Rose Mercy is a Leadership expert with more than 17 years of successful experience in Leadership and Team Building. She is dedicated to making a difference in the growth of leaders by identifying the unique values and leadership potential within young executives.

As a certified CMA Transformational Coach and a Certified Counsellor with more than 5 years of Top Management in Non-Governmental organisations, Rose Mercy has proven experience in leading cross-cultural and global teams across the world in company transitions, identifying the strengths of each company individual and helping them navigate changes in the organisation positively.

With an MA in Communication and Journalism, Rose Mercy currently oversees the management of a global base of partnerships of over 40,000 donors across 11 country offices. She oversees the global strategy of maintaining these partnerships.

Beyond the formal business suit, Rose Mercy is fun-loving and passionate about creative leadership for children. She firmly believes that children should grow up in an atmosphere where they experience a world of unlimited possibilities in their skilling, creatively innovate and participate in their learning. This can only be achieved by investing in a generation of young leaders and executives that can in turn influence these children. Her goal is to develop a generation of skilled leaders who are solving Africa’s problems in an African cultural context with a global outlook.

Mary Lilian Manyonga Nabunya(Nee)


Mary Lilian Mabunya is a multi-sectoral Human Resources (HR) and an Organizational Development (OD) expert, a Certified Trainer and Coach, grounded in business development; and has over ten years’ experience of successfully designing, leading and implementing Human Resources Business Partnering with leading multi-national organizations like FINCA Uganda, Stanbic Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank; state parastatals like Uganda Management Institute and Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.

Mary is a certified Transformation coach from Coach Masters Academy, a member of the International Coach Federation and a chapter founder member of the International Coach federation Uganda Chapter. She is a fervent transformative career and performance, management coach.

She is driven by a passion to create successful teams, processes and systems that drive ethical business growth through talent management, coaching, mentoring, and supporting teams to increases returns on investment.

Lucy Akech P’ongom


Lucy finds her purpose in helping people realize their potential. She is especially good at provoking thought, challenging self-defeating and or self-limiting mindsets; encouraging people to see beyond their current reality.

As a leadership coach she specializes in supporting leaders who are:

  • Leading their organisations through big changes/transitions.
  • Newly appointed into executive roles and are looking to be effective in these positions.

She has practised in the human resource profession for 14 years in Human Resource Business Partnering, People Change and Learning and Development with 6 of the 14 years as the Head of Leadership, Learning and Talent in a leading multinational organisation. She has supported senior executives through 2 major business transitions and developed various leadership development programmes. She has worked on Change and Career projects/programmes in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, South Africa, Seychelles and Mozambique.

Kayaga is a partner at Strategic Engagement Limited, a management consulting firm focused on providing access to research and data-driven interventions focusing on driving organisational development, growth and survival. She has provided management advisory services focusing on the management of work, people and organisations to over 50 organisations ranging from small, medium and large within multiple sectors such as government parastatals, financial services, health care, waste management, NGOs, manufacturing, legal services, professional services and so on. As an early career researcher, she spearheads the Knowledge Management function and is a member of the Network for Education & Multidisciplinary Research Africa (NEMRA).

Kayaga has served as a Director on the governing council of the Human Resources Managers’ Association of Uganda (HRMAU) to drive the quality, relevance and impact of the HR profession within the country. Esther J.N Kasirye is an independent consultant and trainer working with various institutions including the Federation of Uganda Employers, Friends Consult, Coach Africa, MAT Abacus Business School, and IFE Consultants. As a consultant she has undertaken various assignments in the financial services sector; and as a trainer, her main focus is in building leadership competencies, corporate governance and financial literacy.  

Esther is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) since August 2019. She trained to become a certified coach, with the Coach Masters Academy.  She coaches mainly young professionals aspiring for executive leadership positions. 

Esther worked as a banker from 1994 to 2015 years, first as a Senior Finance Officer at the Eastern and Southern Trade and Development Bank (currently Trade and Development Bank) in Nairobi. Later she joined Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited as a manager in the Finance department before becoming the Head of Learning and Development in the Bank’s Human Capital department.

When Makerere Institute of Social Research changed its research agenda, Mr. Asiimwe championed the founding of the Centre for Social Research (CSR) to continue offering policy research services to various clients.  Mr. Asiimwe was nominated for the 2012 Pearl of Africa Lifetime Achievement Award (PALITA) for his contribution to policy research.
