Tom Ayebare Rukundo is the Manager of Economic and Financial Analysis at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) and a rising star where he leads the oversight of the economic and financial aspects of Uganda’s Oil and Gas sector in addition to harnessing linkages between the Oil and Gas sector and other sectors of the Economy for broad-based economic growth.
He was deeply involved in the negotiations that facilitated the Final Investment Decision and secured the government’s take from the projects in addition to spearheading and sourcing close to a billion shillings from the private sector to fund research on linkages and opportunities for other sectors of the economy from the Oil and Gas sector.
He is a seasoned practitioner with experience in cost, financial and economic aspects of Uganda’s Petroleum and Infrastructure Development sectors executed in Uganda, France, and the U.K.
He holds a Master of Science in Oil and Gas Economics from the University of Dundee obtained with Distinction and a BSc in Quantity Surveying from Makerere University where he graduated with Honors on the Dean’s list.
