With over 21 years of experience as a tax practitioner, Rebecca Proscovia Nambi boasts of an extensive understanding of tax laws and regulations as well as practice.
She is a Co-founder and Partner at Ortus Advocates, a leading full-service law firm in Uganda.
She also sits on the Uganda Tax Appeals Tribunal⏤ a quasi-judicial body whose mandate is to handle tax disputes between the Uganda Revenue Authority and taxpayers.
Before co-founding Ortus Advocates, Rebecca spent 16 years at Deloitte East Africa where she rose through the ranks to Senior Manager, Tax Services. She has also worked at Deloitte – London, United Kingdom as a Tax Learning Curriculum Manager for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region.
Some of the most recent issues handled in the oil and gas industry include advising on the titling of land for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project in the districts of Mubende, Kakumiro, and Kyankwanzi in Uganda.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) – from Makerere University, a postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (CIOT – UK), a MOOC Oil & Gas Certificate from the IFP School, France, a certificate in Oil & Gas Contraction – International Law Institute, Kampala, ACCA.
