Clovice Bright Irumba is a Petroleum Geoscientist with specialized training and practical knowledge in Petroleum Law and Policy with 20 years of working experience in the oil and gas industry, a career that started at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development of Uganda.
He has researched the evolution of the legal framework governing the oil and gas industry in Uganda which has made him develop unique skills not only in legal drafting but also development analysis of petroleum policy and strategy.
Mr. Irumba was involved in field studies in the Albertine Graben to establish the petroleum potential of Uganda and subsequently participated in the promotion of investment in petroleum exploration in the country.
He further participated in the development of policy and legislation and took leadership in the formulation of the current petroleum regulations governing the oil and gas industry in Uganda.
Mr Irumba holds a Master of Laws in Petroleum Law and Policy with Distinction from the University of Dundee (UK) and a Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of New Castle upon Tyne (UK).
In addition, he holds a Diploma in Petroleum Development and Operations from Stavanger, Norway and various certificates in Petroleum Geoscience, Law, and Economics from reputable institutions in the UK, USA, Norway and China.
