Bukenya Augustine Guster is well known in oil and gas circles as a main organiser of the annual Uganda International Oil and Gas Summit which has happened for the last 10 years.
The summit is one of the most significant meetings for Uganda’s development plans and it brings together all prospecting oil majors, the ministry, the petroleum authority, the national oil company, lead service providers, contractors, investors, financial services, indigenous companies, law firms and every stop along the value chain on the African continent.
The event last year was attended by President Museveni, and among the major issues discussed included prospectivity and the latest licensing round, local content and expertise, latest tech and services, and financial models.
Bukenya’s company- Beautiful Engineering is a contractor at the KingFisher oil project and is involved in fire suppression and maintenance of fire equipment.
Bukenya is also involved in exploration activities under another company – Petro Afrik Natural Resources Limited in a joint venture with Niger Delta Petroleum Resources from Nigeria. The two were shortlisted for a second licensing round for the exploration of new oil blocks in the Albertine Graben.
