Since 2016, the government through the Ministry of Water and Environment has increased access to water in the country whereby clean and affordable water access in rural areas is at 68% while in urban areas it is at 75%. “Overall a total of 38,517 villages representing 66% out of the total 57,974 villages in the country have been served with clean water. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has achieved monumental landmarks on its social contracts with the people as demonstrated in the NRM Manifesto 2016-2021. The tourism sector excelled with a rating of 92% for the tourism sector; out of 17 commitments, 15 commitments were significantly achieved and two partially achieved.
