The Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) is staring at UGX 5 trillion outstanding loan obligations from Karuma and Isimba Hydro Power Projects. Lawmakers have said that corruption and connivance are to blame for the shutdown of Isimba hydropower plant.
