Ride-hailing firm Uber has officially exited the Tanzanian market, ending nearly a decade of operations in the country.  In a message sent to customers, the company announced that its services ceased on January 30, 2026, and that the Uber app would no longer be available in Tanzania. “This chapter comes to an end, but our gratitude to you remains,” Uber said, apologising for the inconvenience and thanking users for their support.  The company did not publicly disclose the reasons behind the decision, but analysts and local media point to a combination of regulatory pressures and intensifying competition that ultimately made…
