Some of the over 300 MTN Uganda vendors who attended MTN Uganda's 2024 Supplier Forum in August 2024. The forum, organised under the theme "Building Tomorrow’s Supply Chain Today," emphasised innovation, resilience, and collaboration. MTN Uganda currently works with 1,886 suppliers, of which 63% are locally registered and 11% are women-owned. Key highlights of the forum included strategic financial partnerships with Citi Bank, dfcu Bank, and HCH Finance for affordable supplier financing and discussions on leveraging technology such as IoT, cloud services, and MTN MoMo financial products to enhance supply chain efficiency. In 2024, the company spent a total of UGX 980.2 billion on local suppliers, representing a 21.8% increase over the previous year. This localised procurement strategy stimulates multiple sectors—from construction and logistics to IT and advertising—ensuring that MTN’s capital circulates within the national economy.
