PROGRAMME: Advanced Management Programme Alumnus Class of 2019

Fabian Kasi, has spent the last 28 years in various capacities in the financial services industry, most of them in Uganda.

“Financial inclusion and easing access to financial services has been my focus. With this focus, I have been able to move Centenary Bank to the number one indigenous Micro Finance institution and the 2nd best Commercial Bank in Uganda with an asset base of USD$1.4 billion. This has not come on a silver platter but through having a very strong resolve and a formidable team,” he says.

Fabian is also a Rotarian and he says, “community service is at the heart of Rotary fraternity to transform lives. I have been able to transfer these values to build an all-round institution.”

“While undertaking the Advanced Management Programme at Strathmore University Business School, I recall a question to all the participants which required us to discuss how the next 10 years would count in our lives following the training. I responded as follows: I had learnt that the future is in my hands, and I needed to have ambitions. I learnt to be a lifelong student and to take my current job as a calling and to have passion at it. I also learnt that I had to build the future by helping others and giving back to the community where I live,” he testifies of how SBS changed his life and career.

“Thank you very much Strathmore University and I unreservedly recommend the university to all managers and leaders who are interested in enhancing their skills,” he adds.

To young leaders, Fabian has this to say: “I urge you to be deliberate, there is no free lunch. Grow your skills, focus, and always scan the environment to keep abreast of the new developments.”
