Startup Uganda is set to hold Quarter 3 Investor Day, which will see the winner standing a chance to receive investment worth US$ 100,000.
The event will be held virtually on September 10th 2021.
The event is organised in an effort to encourage networking and funding opportunities between startups and investors in the Ugandan startup ecosystem.
“The number of startups in Uganda is on the rise, given the fact that the country has a very young population and is recognised as one of the most entrepreneurial countries in the world. And with the pandemic at hand, businesses need a boost for better chances of survival. We hope with the Investor Day we will be able to give a business a winning chance. ” Gilbert Buryegyeya, Programs and Partnerships Manager, StartUp Uganda
The day will be divided in sessions with each session featuring four investors, with 10 shortlisted teams pitching for ten minutes each, with five minutes for a Q&A session.
The first Startup Uganda Investor Day focused on entrepreneurs in Health and Fintech.
This time round, the focus is on Agriculture and Education startups and entrepreneurs in both sectors are encouraged to apply. Businesses that are registered to the Startup Uganda web portal and have been in operation for at least one year will be considered.
Innovators who want to apply are advised to:
● Open startupug.com on your website.
● Register your startup.
● Apply for SUInvests on bit.ly/SUInvests.
● Submit your application.
The deadline for application is 31st August 2021.

The entrepreneurial space in Uganda is one that has tremendous potential for growth. This is agreed upon globally.
However, one of the obstacles to this growth has been lack of access to capital to start as well as to scale their businesses through investment and other financing methods.
The Startup Uganda Investor days are in place as a solution to this problem.
Startup Uganda (SU) is an association of innovation and entrepreneurship support organizations (IESO) working towards strengthening the startup support ecosystem and sector.
