KAMPALA, UGANDA- Promoters of Social Security with in the Eastern African region under their umbrella body the East and Central Africa Social Security Association (ECASSA) have agreed on five key points that must be fast tracked by respective governments in order to improve social security coverage in the region.

In a conference, which ended in Kampala over the weekend, they noted that it is essential to build a culture of social protection through education in all partner states right from primary school level of education.

“Ensure enhancement of benefits to the entire population in the member states through legislations and policies. Each member state should develop policies that guarantee social protection flow for all citizens and enhance regional cooperation to benchmark for the purposes of sharing best practices with in the region,
