South African Airways (SAA) has partnered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), to facilitate air travel discounts to delegates that will attend the 4th Africa Congress of Accountants (ACOA). The event will be held at Speke Resort Munyonyo from 2nd to 5th of May 2017.
Under the theme ‘Accountancy and Accountability: Transforming Africa’s Economies’, ACOA aims at bringing together professional accountants and business leaders from the continent and beyond. It will provide an opportunity of boosting networking, international trade, tourism and partnerships.
Some of the confirmed speakers include outgoing Chairman of the African Union Dr. Nkosozana Dlamini Zuma, Rachel Grimes President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Asmaa Resmouki President of Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and Professor PLO Lumumba, CEO Kenya School of Law.

While announcing the event in the week ending 17th March 2017, ICPAU President Protazion Begumisa said, “This partnership with SAA implies it is the preferred airline partner for international flights for this forthcoming event. ACOA delegates will enjoy discounts of between 5% and 18%. We are expecting 1,200 delegates with about 900 coming from outside Uganda. Through ACOA, we will generate ideas from different speakers and experts on how we can transform African economies. We then pass these ideas on to decision makers for implementation.
