Rukutana declared NRM flag bearer for Rushenyi County, Ntungamo District Rukutana's closest competitor Naome Kabasharira had declared herself the winner before official party declaration

State Minister for Labour Mwesigwa Rukutana has been declared the duly elected NRM flag bearer for the Rushenyi Constituency Member of Parliament 2020 after polling the highest number of votes compared to his competitors. According to declaration results for the Rushenyi Constituency, signed by Dr Tanga odoi, the Chairperson NRM Electoral Commission, Mwesigwa Rukutana polled 25,310 votes accounting for 46.27% beating his closest rival Naome Kabasharira who polled 25,290 votes (46.23%).
