Launched onto the Ugandan market in June, 2018 by CEO and founder Brian Matsiko, Bringo Fresh is an e-commerce platform that bridges Ugandan farmers and technology making their fresh produce available online for doorstep delivery. The platform sources Fresh produce from small-holder farmers, and is delivered to customers’ door steps. Among the fresh produce that Bringo Fresh deals in are fruits, vegetables, fish and meat among others. 

It has managed to save the wastage of over 12,000 kgs of vegetables, fruits and dairy products. The Bringo supplies are delivered all over Kampala, Entebbe & Wakiso daily from 8am to 6pm


Famunera (USD10,000)

Famunera, is an agri-tech/e-commerce platform, that links smallholder farmers to genuine quality affordable farm agricultural inputs and provides support service to buyers of farm produce.  

The company is a brain child of Naika Enock Julius(Founder and CEO), Ojema Joel (Co-founder and CAO), Nammanda Lydia (Co-founder and Chief Admin Dip. Agriculture), Kiirya Nathan (Co-founder and COO) and Odongkara Frank (Co-Founder and CTO).

Famunera supports over 5000 farmers through their technology and has enabled sales of US$15M for their farmer community which is predominantly youth.


Flip Africa (USD15,000)

Abdu Mussuza (Co-founder & CEO Uganda), Neha Pandya (Co-founder & COO USA) and Timothy Laku (Co-founder & CTO Kenya) are the brains behind Flip Africa, a freelance marketplace that enables users access skilled freelance talents.

The Flip platform offers businesses the agility to hire talent for a specific work task without risk, commitment and overheads of full-time employment. Flip Africa is taking gig work to another level, they have so far matched 78 jobs with over 650 users in their business models and $1000 in revenues.


Marula Agribusiness (USD15,000)

Marula Agribusiness is an agribusiness that transforms waste into high quality livestock feed. At the helm of the company is Tomie Hooft, CEO, Boby Ogwang, COO, Phillip Straub, CTO, Martin Tenywa, in charge of farm operations, Zainah Nampija, an animal scientist, Ludivine, in charge of sustainability and Lutwama Vincent in charge of safety.

Through the waste recycling industry, Marula Agribusiness has managed to clean cities, scale upto 800 outgrower farmers and create 170 jobs so far.


Med X International ($10,000)

Med X International is a web-based medical laboratory management information system, Med X International automatically retrieves real time medical results. Med X has tested over 100,000 samples with an average of 1000 tests per day at 6 testing laboratories.


Minute5 ($7,850)

Minute5 is led by a team of five, including Kambuga Abdallah (founder) and CRO, Katumba Jonathan Paul, Co-founder and CEO, Kasujja Shafik, Co-founder and CFO, Amongi Agnes, head of business onboarding and Edrisa Kyeswa COO. It is an e-Commerce platform that offers an online grocery market place that brings together vendors and customers by providing clients with shopping experience at their fingertips and having the items ordered delivered to their door steps in real-time. It has delivered their services to over 500 customers through working directly with 22 vendors and small scale farmers enabling sales of $10,000 in transactions.


ProInterns ($15,000)

Launched in August 2016, ProInterns is an e-recruitment platform that connects students and graduates to internships, placements and entry-level opportunities with leading organizations and impactful startups. ProInterns has over 2000 users and has enabled them to connect with over 150 employers available on their platform. ProInterns was founded by Vaness Atim.


Tripxio (15,000)

Tripxio is a tourism operator platform that enables small and medium businesses in the tourism sector to digitize their operations, package new and existing offers, create e-commerce websites, accept payments and efficiently run their businesses in this sector.

At the helm of Tripxio is David Gonahasa in charge of Sales and customer acquisition, Arnold Babaasa, chief technical Officer and Mahmoud Saeed, creative director.

Tripxio has enabled 27 tourism entrepreneurs to maximize their opportunities in the industry and provided job opportunities directly to 8 SMEs as agents.


Tubayo ($15,000)

Since its launch in January 2019, Tubayo has developed into a popular brand in the Ugandan travel industry. Tubayo provides affordable travel adventure experiences with a mission to make travel easy for everyone. It has made sales of over $50,000 with more than 4500 travel experiences and 320 bookings made in the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Renowned for its trendy and adventure-filled experiences, Tubayo also has the capacity to handle hundreds of bookings at a go and still give every user a worthwhile experience. The brains behind the exciting conception are Namanya Brian (CEO and founder), Joel Mwanja (Co-founder) and Boris Mugisha Nahabwe (Chief Operations Officer).


Xente ($14,642)

Xente is an e-commerce and financial services business. Launched in 2017 Xente was a creation of Allan Rwakatungu and his co-founders having run a small tech firm previously called Intel World International that was offering technology services since 2014. Holding the reigns of the company is Rwakatungu the Founder and CEO who has 17 years plus of product development, Francis Nkurunungi, Co-founder and COO and Kenneth Legesi with 17 years plus in corporate finance/management consulting.

Xente is onboarding micro merchants to sell on their digital platform and to continue trading during and after COVID19 and in the process improve livelihoods and create employment. The Xente platform has over 50,000 customers with a 50% growth rate per month. Its target is to reach at least 100 million users and 50,000 businesses in the next 10 years.
