President Yoweri Museveni has been sworn in as president of Uganda to serve a Sixth term in office.
Museveni, who was re-elected in January took the oath of office on Wednesday at a ceremony held at Kololo Independence Grounds, in the country’s capital Kampala. The ceremony was graced by several African heads of state and other foreign dignitaries among other guests.
President Museveni who was donning a dark blue suit and his signature wide hat, was escorted by his wife, the First Lady, Janet Museveni.

A total of 12 Heads of State and other dignitaries from the diplomatic corps witnessed the inauguration at the Kololo Independence Grounds as thousands followed televised proceedings from their homes.
