Peter Ssenyange, Chief Financial Officer at Pearl Bank Uganda (formerly PostBank Uganda) (4th left), Joseph Wechuli, Finance Manager at TotalEnergies (4th right), Doreen Muhangazi, Chief People and Strategy Officer at Pearl Bank (3rd right), and Millicent Gitonga, Retail and Marketing Manager at TotalEnergies (3rd left), join other officials from both institutions at the launch of the Wendi–TotalEnergies partnership held on 24th October 2025 at TotalEnergies City Centre. The partnership enables customers to conveniently pay for fuel, gas, car services, and shop purchases at all TotalEnergies stations using the Wendi mobile wallet.

Wendi, the digital wallet developed by Pearl Bank (formerly PostBank Uganda) has today announced a partnership with TotalEnergies Marketing & Services (M&S) aimed at simplifying customer payments at all Total fuel stations using the Wendi mobile wallet platform.

Customers are now able to pay for fuel, gas, car service and shop at all Total station shops ranging from a minimum amount of UGX. 500 with a maximum transaction amount of UGX 5 million per transaction.

While the maximum customer wallet balance is UGX 20 million, the merchant wallet balance has no limit.

The enrollment of the dealer stations where purchases or transactions can be made is ongoing and should be completed by the end of November 2025.

Speaking at the partnership event, Peter Ssenyange, Chief Financial Officer at Pearl Bank Uganda, highlighted how Wendi continues to be an innovative solution that enables access to digital financial services anywhere and at any time.

“Wendi is a solution provider, and its name, which can be translated as ‘I am here’, proves that the wallet is here to support our people in their day-to-day transactions. We are glad to join efforts with TotalEnergies M&S to enable them to make their payments fast, secure, and affordable.” Ssenyange said.

He added “In addition to fuel payments, Wendi users enjoy 10% interest per annum on savings, one of the best offers on the market. This is to encourage the saving culture among Ugandans, ultimately improving their financial resilience.”

To make fuel payments at Total stations, a Wendi customer initiates the payment by scanning the merchant QR code or entering the Wendi merchant code, proceeds to enter their PIN to confirm the transaction.

Their account is then debited and the Wendi merchant account credited.

First-time customers can access Wendi either through USSD by dialing *229# or by downloading the Wendi Mobile Wallet App, and if they are registering for the first time, they will be required to have their national ID and enter their credentials including First and last name, National Identification Number (NIN), and follow the guidelines to complete registration.

Joseph Wechuli, the TotalEnergies’ Finance Manager, on behalf of the Managing Director mentioned that the partnership is timely and champions sustainability, and the continued adoption of innovative approaches that drive convenience and timely access to services.

“This partnership with Wendi highlights TotalEnergies’ commitment to innovation and customer convenience. By introducing digital payment options at our fuel stations, we are giving customers easier and more flexible ways to pay for fuel and other services. Collaborations such as this are important in improving how customers access and pay for essential services.” he said.
