Pamela Abonyo has joined Opportunity Bank as the new Marketing Manager for. She formerly worked for NIC Holdings Ltd as the Head Corporate Communications.
Pamela has over 15 years in Marketing and Communications, having started her lustrous career as an Account manager at Moyo Africa/Phat! working with brands such as Barclays (now Absa), Pepsi, Fanta, Zamani and the Rockefeller Foundation. She then moved to Rwanda to work with CreaXion Ogilvy, were she worked with various brands such as DSTV, Rwandatel, RwandAir, Primus and Mutzig. While in Rwanda she joined the financial sector working for SONARWA a leading insurance company and was later transferred to Uganda to work for NIC Holdings Ltd where she has been in charge of the brand.
Pamela holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University, a Post Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM UK) and a Bachelors degree of Development Studies from Makerere University Kampala.
She is a founding member and the Board Chairperson of the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS) and sits on the Board of Advisors of Give Girls A chance, Nigeria.
Opportunity Bank was recently granted a commercial banking license, having been previously trading as a Credit Institution (Tier 2) and has now transformed to a Commercial Bank (Tier 1) institution.
