The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Lubowa Housing Project design master plan has won the Environmental Sustainability Award at the First East Africa Green Building Conference (EAGBC) held in Arusha, Tanzania.

The EAGBC brings together policymakers, developers, government officials, academics and key industry representatives from the architectural, engineering and building sector to discuss key issues and opportunities across the region.

While receiving the award in Arusha last week, the NSSF Managing Director, Richard Byarugaba said he was very pleased that the Lubowa Housing project has been recognized as one of the best energy efficient project yet to be constructed in East Africa.

“This award is a testimony of our commitment to champion the use of environmentally friendly technology in all our investments in the real estate sector. The Lubowa Housing Estate is in line with the Fund’s continued efforts to give our members a competitive return on their savings,
